Wildwood PR in run for cancer charity
Two Horsham companies are teaming up to run a gruelling half marathon to raise much needed funds for a cancer charity. The two companies – award-winning public relations company, Wildwood PR, and the Bishopric-based Lifestyle Europe car dealership – have entered a team in the Lifestyle Renault Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon on 26th February 2012 in aid of The Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre.
Southwater resident and MD at Wildwood PR, Tanya Houston, explains: “Lifestyle Europe is one of our clients and when we heard they were the main sponsors for this race, we wanted to do our bit too. Many of us have friends and family affected by cancer and the support that charities like the Pickering Cancer Drop-in Centre provide for patients and their families is vital in coping with cancer and its treatment. This year I am also taking part – I won’t say running because I think I will be walking quite a way in the middle of the race, but it is a really worthwhile cause and so I am prepared to put in the effort!”
The Lifestyle Renault Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon is a testing, single-lap course through some of Kent’s finest countryside. The Wildwood team (Tanya Houston, Ashley-Amaran Balachandran, Lauren Rees, John Houston and Leah Eser) have joined forces with staff from the Lifestyle Europe network of dealerships from Horsham, Crawley, Redhill and Tunbridge Wells. They are aiming to raise a significant £17,500 in order to cover cost for the Centre’s rent for a full year. The Pickering Centre is a completely self-funding registered charity and was established by a group of cancer patients who recognised that anybody affected by the disease needed somewhere to go, to relax and talk to others who are in a similar situation.
