Centre of attention

The South of England Centre, home of the renowned South of England Show, has appointed Wildwood to promote its extensive range of facilities available for hire. The two companies will be working in partnership throughout 2008 to raise awareness of the venue amongst organisations, companies and individuals. It is expected that an increase in events held at the Centre will also have a positive halo effect for local business.

Set in 150 acres at Ardingly, West Sussex, the South of England Centre is one of the most flexible and unique venues in the country. The Norfolk Pavilion with its array of function rooms, exhibition and banqueting spaces make it the ideal location for conferences, seminars, exhibitions, weddings and parties. Furthermore, its grounds, equestrian facilities, exhibition halls and range of buildings with extensive car parking, lend itself to a variety of large-scale indoor and outdoor events. In addition to the celebrated South of England Show, the Centre regularly hosts antiques fairs and auctions, equestrian events, dog training, livestock shows, craft fairs and caravan rallies, amongst others.

This is the first time the South of England Centre has recruited a PR consultancy to conduct a bespoke publicity campaign on its behalf. Wildwood will build awareness of the Centre’s unique offering via a media relations campaign combined with highly targeted direct marketing.

William Goodwin, chair of the South of England Centre marketing committee says, “We were very impressed by Wildwood’s creativity and enthusiasm during our review process. In addition, their experience promoting national exhibitions means they have a deep understanding of the importance of finding the right venue. We are looking forward to having them as part of the team and benefiting from their expertise.”
